OUR LAST NEWSLETTER FOR 2009!
2009 has been a great year for us. Our teaching team has delivered music to over 1100 students each week and enrolments are pouring in for 2010. Next year our Music School family will grow even bigger!
Thank you to our 20 partner schools for allowing us to share music with your children – Balmoral, Bayfield, Freemans Bay, Hobsonville, Maungawhau, Meadowbank, Pasadena, Newton, Parnell Primary, Ponsonby Primary, Pt Chevalier, Remuera Primary, Richmond Road, St Josephs Orakei, St Leos Devonport, St Marys Northcote, St Michaels Remuera, Takapuna Primary, Westmere and Vauxhall Primary.
Thank you to the almost 300 students and their families who attend lessons each week at our Music Centre in Great South Road after school and on Saturdays, and thank you to our energetic, enthusiastic teaching team who made each lesson fun and educational!
In addition to the student concerts held at each school this term, there have been many other outstanding student performances this year including:
• Rock on a Mission - Snowplanet (April and September school holidays)
• Starship’s Supernova Swing (Campbell Mackenzie performed with Jason Kerrison)
• Starship Foundation’s Guardian Angels Society events (Campbell Mackenzie, Ponsonby’s Musical Jam groups, Pt
Chevalier’s recorder consort were guest performers)
• AJMC - Pt Chevalier’s Recorder consort won a gold award, Takapuna and Ponsonby Primary
orchestras coached by Lewis Eady Music School performed
• 9 new Rock Bands were formed in our partner schools
• Awkward Silence (Lewis Eady Rock Academy band) played on the mainstage at Grey Lynn Festival
• Students coached by Lewis Eady Music School took part in the 3rd NZ Ukulele Festival, the world
record breaking Big Uke and the annual Marimba Festival
• Matteus Rocca and Campbell Mackenzie busked at the launch of the Lewis Eady Charitable Trust event
• Singing Rainbows and Awkward Silence both feature in the Lewis Eady Charitable Trust official launch video.
We know there were many more performances by our students. We congratulate you all on your achievements. We are very proud of you! |
